**Demonstration of peatland restoration using the moss layer transfer technique**

Join specialists to:

- - Define peatland degradation states (substrate, hydrology, phragmites);
    - Present the steps of peat extraction for growing (horticultural) substrates;
    - Demonstrate the moss layer transfer technique to restore peatlands harvested by vacuum extraction, including:
        - harvesting at the donor site, site preparation, spreading of sphagnum and straw, fertilization, and raising the water table;
    - Discuss reference ecosystems.

**What to bring: Y**our lunch, tall rubber boots, and clothing suitable for all possible weather conditions. We’re hoping for nice weather (but just in case…)
