Our spring 2022 #PeatTalks series is looking beyond ECR life for #PeatECR and potential next career steps. Our presenters will talk about their work, but also the pros & cons, challenges and benefits of their chosen paths.

**Presenter**: Manuel Helbig - PhD, assistant professor in atmospheric science, Dalhousie University, Canada. Manuel's research interests: land-atmosphere feedbacks, micrometeorology, boundary layer meteorology.

**Talk**: Permafrost peatlands, and planetary boundary layers: 12 years of interdisciplinary Earth system research

Manuel will discuss his research career from ECR to tenure track, including the trials and tribulations of pursuing an academic career in the country where you obtained your PhD.
