I am currently doing my PhD at Helsinki University Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences in ECRU (Environmental Change Research Unit). My PhD work concentrates on changes in carbon accumulation and spatial expanse of northern peatlands. In my thesis I am combining traditional field study methods with state-of-the-art remote sensing methods.
My main skills are focused around peatland ecosystems: ecology, management, conservation and restoration. My Master's thesis focused on peatlands in urban setting and my Bachelor's thesis on water protection in managed peatlands. I have also been developing my GIS skills to broaden my areas of expertise.
