SER plays a pivotal role in supporting the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration by establishing globally recognized standards of practice. These standards, co-developed with organizations like FAO and IUCN CEM, include over 300 recommendations to ensure the long-term success of ecosystem restoration projects across diverse environments. SER's contribution emphasizes key principles that guide best practices and foster meaningful outcomes for restoring ecosystems worldwide.
FAO-led Task Force on Best Practices for the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (UN Decade) is implementing the Capacity, Knowledge, and Learning Action Plan of the UN Decade, designed to address capacity gaps and priorities for ecosystem restoration among different types of stakeholders.
The plan includes eight initiatives, and for three of them, the Task Force is gathering information for different purposes (forms available in multiple languages).
