The Indigenous Knowledge Circle (IKC) of the National Boreal Caribou Knowledge Consortium (NBCKC), created the Beyond Conservation Toolkit, which offers practical guidance for non-Indigenous supporters and partners to build trust, honour Indigenous rights and knowledge, and support Indigenous leadership in caring for the lands, waters, ice, and beings.
As a recent addition to the toolkit, the IKC has created a Personal Accountability Pledge as a call to action. The Pledge turns principles into action, inviting individuals to commit to respectful collaboration with Indigenous Peoples, centring trust, reciprocity, and Indigenous rights while honouring knowledge systems, relationships, and responsibilities to Land and community.
Each coming year on September 30th, pledge signers will receive a set of accountability questions to help reflect on their pledge and the ways they have upheld their commitments.
Sign the pledge, and join in the journey of healing!
