SOIL 230 Pedology Field School

3-day in-person field school provided by Montrose Environmental Solutions Inc.

This 24-h introductory soil science course is fully field-based. The 3-day field school led by Dr. Konstantin Dlusskiy focuses on hands-on experience with application to industry standards.

• Description of soil pits and landscapes,
• Field diagnostics of soil properties and processes,
• Soil classification to Subgroup level of the Canadian System of Soil Classification,
• Soil sampling protocols,
• Hazards associated with ground disturbance and the Alberta One Call procedure
   

The course provides 24 h of professional development to eligible professionals. The course is not considered a degree-credit course and therefore does not meet the course requirements under the National Education Entrance Standard for the purposes of an application for registration with the profession of Agrology.
