Morning
- Defining peatland degradation states
- Overview of peat extraction steps for horticultural substrates
- Demonstration of the moss layer transfer technique
- Visit to restored sites and analysis of success trajectories
Lunch: Parc Nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes
Afternoon
- Presentation of peat extraction through acrotelm harvesting (MAC)
- Discussion on reference sites and their comparison with the trajectories of restored post-industrial sites
- Discussion on different revegetation techniques
What to bring: Lunch, tall rubber boots and weather-appropriate clothing.
