This hands-on course, designed by SALMTEC, immerses participants in practical fieldwork and multidisciplinary learning. Ideal for recent graduates, new hires, and seasoned professionals alike, the program aims to enhance skills and broaden expertise through direct engagement with Subject Matter Experts.

Training Activities:

  • Soil Pits: Digging, coloring, texturing, measuring, and attributing soil profiles.
  • Plant Identification: Recognizing and classifying plants using various tools.
  • Ecological Land Classification: Applying Alberta’s Grassland Vegetation Inventory (GVI) in the field.
  • ABWRET-A Application: Conducting fieldwork focused on wildlife habitat functions.
