This presentation shifts the focus from what field screening technologies such as AISCT® are to why they matter. Extensive field experience has revealed one of the most significant—and often overlooked—sources of error in site assessment and remediation: variability and uncertainty hidden within conventional sampling. More importantly, it has demonstrated a practical means of overcoming this challenge. Traditionally, projects have prioritized time and cost, with certainty treated as a risk factor recognized only after critical decisions are made. This session will illustrate how placing certainty first leads to more substantial results in both time and cost, with AISCT® providing a proven approach to achieve this shift.

Presenter: James Waddell  Waddell serves as a President at TRIUM Environmental Inc., bringing over two decades of expertise in environmental assessment, remediation, and risk analysis. With a robust educational foundation in Hydrogeology, his work primarily centers on the development and application of technology to tackle environmental challenges. He oversees the North American operations for both TRIUM Environmental and ecoAI Innovates. Mr. Waddell is recognized as a technical expert in the deployment of advanced sensors and measurement systems, significantly enhancing project outcomes across the region.
