In the seventh episode of our webinar series, Alex MacPhail takes us on a journey across Alberta and beyond, to places where environmental sensor monitoring is currently underway using autonomous recording units (or ARUs) and remote camera traps. The ABMI has developed a world-class monitoring program that brings data into WildTrax: a web-enabled platform that manages, stores, processes and shares acoustic and image data in a modern and standardized way. Data Discover is the newest tool in WildTrax and an entry point to the world of big data.

Data Discover is a mapping tool that allows users to see public data depicting where units have been deployed, and what data exists. Users can filter by sensor type, project, and species of interest to attain publicly available datasets of interest, while data owners can compare their private and/or public datasets with publicly available datasets. Join us to learn how you can make the most out of this interactive tool!
