The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) invites you to a webinar that will provide an update on the National Native Seed Strategy and host a variety of speakers leading impactful native seed and plant initiatives across the country.
To initiate the webinar, Carolyn Callaghan, CWF’s Senior Conservation Biologist, will provide an introduction to the National Native Seed Strategy. Following this update, several speakers will provide information about impactful regional native seed and plant initiatives. Speakers from the following groups will highlight their priorities, successes, and strategies implemented:
- Yukon Seed & Restoration
- BC Seed Bank for Rare and Culturally Significant Species
- Southern Alberta Native Seed Collaborative (SANSC)
- Native Plant Society of Saskatchewan (NPSS)
- Southern Ontario Seed Strategy (SOSS)
- Ontario Native Plant Growers Association (ONPGA)
Additionally, Renny Grilz, co-owner of Blazing Star Wildflower Seed Company, and the Vice-President of the Native Seed Producers of Canada, will close out the webinar with a talk entitled “Scaling Restoration Starts with Seed: International Lessons for Canada”.
