In order to protect boreal wetlands, we must first know where they are. Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is leading the effort to provide detailed, accurate, and spatially extensive wetland maps for Canada’s boreal region. DUC’s wetland inventories assist industry, government, indigenous peoples, and conservation organizations in developing comprehensive policies and sustainable management practices around wetlands. In this presentation, Becky Edwards and Michael Merchant will provide an overview of our wetland inventory projects to-date, and screen two short videos on how we use remote sensing techniques to map wetlands across the boreal and their various applications.
