Alberta's Northern Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils (WPAC's): the Athabasca Watershed Council, the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance and the Lesser Slave Watershed Council invite you to join us for 2 days of learning, exploration and discussion of water management issues, challenges and partnerships in Grande Prairie, AB!
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you work in industry, represent a municipality, academia, a non profit organization or are interested in watershed management and stewardship!
With the overarching theme of managing water resources in Northern Alberta, our presentations will involve topics relating to: water quality, aquatic biodiversity, wetlands & riparian areas . You will hear from industry representatives, academics, NGO's and municipalities about great projects and initiatives underway across Alberta's Boreal related to the sustainable management our watersheds and water resources. We hope you leave with a better understanding of water across northern Alberta, ideas for future projects and opportunities to collaborate.
Refreshments & lunch provided, with coffee and tea on all day. Banquet dinner on February 15th will be a great time for socializing and networking, with a tasty dinner, a cash bar and a keynote address from long time watershed steward and Professional Biologist Lorne Fitch. Extra tickets available for the banquet if you'd like to bring a guest.
