The B.C. Wildlife Federation’s Wetlands Education Program is returning this November for the Wetlands Institute: Virtual Speaker Series! This year’s theme is “Secret Wonders of Wetlands,” and will delve into the little-seen life of the beaver, the ubiquitous world of bryophytes (moss!), and the delightful night-lives of bats. Together, these three s pecies make up some of the vital building-blocks of wetland health and ecology.

On November 8 th at 7pm PST, join us as Camille Coray, Executive Director of the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, walks us through “Beaver 101” and dives into why beavers are necessary for wetland health. Then follow along as Adrian Nelson, Wildlife Program Manager at Humane Solutions Inc., discusses the intricacies of beaver habitat protection and restoration, and teaches us how we can best co-exist with these amazing wetland animals.
