World Wetlands Day 2022

February 2nd is World Wetlands Day, which marks the day when the Convention on Wetlands was adopted in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran. The Convention is an international government agreement acknowledging the importance of wetlands and plays a central role in the wise use and conservation of these critical ecosystems. A call to take action for wetlands is the focus of this years' campaign. It's an appeal to invest financial, human, and political capital to save the world's wetlands from disappearing and to restore those we have degraded.
