Since 2007, we've monitored Alberta’s wetlands through our Ecosystem Health Program. Over the past 15 years, we have collected valuable baseline information on macroinvertebrates, vascular plants, and environmental characteristics such as basic water quality from 1,700 wetland sites across the province. This effort has been enhanced by recent satellite-based wetland mapping initiatives, including a comprehensive, Alberta-wide wetland inventory.
As we look to the future, we want to ensure our approach remains relevant and valuable to our data users. We are gathering information in a 10-15 minute survey on current uses of wetland data, the types of information that are useful, and any gaps or additional data needs. Fill out the survey here!
We welcome your input into the future of wetland monitoring! The survey will run until mid-August and is open to everyone.
