This note is a short summary of an exciting new Canadian Forest Service (CFS) research project funded under the 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program. To optimize and monitor silvicultural practices following in-situ oil and gas exploration and development in the Northwest Territories, in the context of facilitating restoration success and addressing operational challenges, the objective of this pilot project is to compare the initial success of tree establishment using seed pucks versus traditional tree planting on seismic lines located in NWT.
