Skiing conditions at the Lake Louise Ski Area may be improved by the application of artificial snow. Concern has been expressed that artificial snow may contribute to the development of slope failures. Geotechnical and
hydrological investigations indicate that the proposed surface water and groundwater control systems will reduce groundwater recharge. This will result in lowering the groundwater surface,. contributing to an overall
improvement in slope stability.
