This paper presents a review of the author's involvement in the reclamation of land stressed by the mining industry for the past 50+ years in various parts of Canada and to a lesser extent in other countries. The problems associated with the processing of Ores in the more settled and populated regions of the country as
well as in the more remote mining sites are discussed. Current procedures and problems are touched on, as well as, a forecast of possible future developments in this field.
I would remind all who are or who will become engaged in land restoration of industrially stressed sites to remember the following words "Adapt, not Adopt" the practices followed and observed at other sites to the conditions with which you are facing On your current job site.
