The continuing spread of butternut canker constitutes the greatest threat to the survival of butternut trees, which have been protected under the Species at Risk Act since 2005. Furthermore, growing conditions that are favourable to the health and growth of butternut trees are increasingly rare. This fact sheet presents potential solutions to counteract this disease.
