The 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program aims to capture atmospheric carbon and reduce GHG emissions through the planting of 2 billion trees. A key topic researchers would like to explore is how Canada’s watersheds will respond to such extensive tree planting. This research project will explore how tree planting affects hydrology within a Canadian context to inform the 2BT program and avoid negatively affecting water availability.
