The Alberta Wetland Classification System Field Guide is a visual, plain-language field guide for identifying and classifying wetlands based on the Alberta Wetland Classification System (AWCS). The Field Guide includes a vegetation-based classification decision key to the five major wetland classes and thirteen forms of the AWCS, detailed fact sheets on each wetland form, and a brief vegetation section highlighting common wetland plants and their associated wetland class. The guide is intended for wetland practitioners (e.g. industry practitioners, landowners, government, Indigenous communities etc.) who live and/or work in Alberta, though the guide can be used by anyone keen to learn more about wetlands.
