Amphibians are considered sensitive indicators of environmental quality, play important roles in the ecosystems of northern Alberta, and may be impacted by anthropogenic disturbance. This report provides recommendations to the Ecological Monitoring Committee for the Lower Athabasca (EMCLA) for an amphibian monitoring pilot study in the Lower Athabasca Planning Region. Monitoring and tracking amphibian population abundance and distribution on a regional scale can support more informed land-use management.
