The 2016 conference for the Alberta Institute of Agrologists was held in April in Banff. This year's conference theme was "Land and People". The Land Use Knowledge Network recorded presentations from the conference.

Drs. Anne Naeth & Vic Adamowicz present "Land and People: An Outlook of Opportunity or Inevitable Decline". Each year AIA commissions a Green Paper to be authored at arms length by peer recognized experts. This year's theme is "Land and People". In Part 1, Dr. Naeth and Adamowicz introduce how land has shaped humans and how we are now shaping land, particularly in the Alberta context.

In Part 2 of Drs. Anne Naeth and Vic Adamowicz presentation "Land and People: An Outlook of Opportunity or Inevitable Decline", Dr Anne Naeth summarizes the significant progress and the challenges in Alberta's land reclamation activities. Dr Adamowicz covers Alberta's biodiversity risks and while the focus may woodland caribou, the agricultural zone is where the most species are at risk.
