The 2016 conference for the Alberta Institute of Agrolgists was held in April in Banff. This year's conference theme was "Land and People". The Land Use Knowledge Network recorded presentations from the conference.

Dr Les Fuller provides an update at the AIA 2016 Conference, Apr. 20, on Alberta's progress toward a joint practice standard for wetland practitioners. Ten Professional Regulatory Organizations (AIA is one of the ten) and the Government of Alberta are working together to define the qualifications and experience to make sure that the professional signing off on wetland assessment documents has the qualifications and experience to make those assessments.

Dr. Fuller's presentation outlines roles of the different professionals and the specific requirements of professional agrologists. Sign-offs are covered. Tools and documents and courses to qualify are covered. The Joint Practice Standard is to launch June 1. Professional Agrologists have a Wetland Practitioner Portal on their AIA Member Home Page.
