At the 14th North American Caribou Workshop, held in September 2012, Libby Williamson-Ehlers presented results of research that recorded the landscape change caused by industrial development in the Peace region of north-eastern BC. The Central Mountain caribou that live in that area have had to adapt to a rapidly changing landscape with forestry, oil and gas development increasing, particularly through the 2000s. Libby Williamson-Ehlers is with the University of Northern British Columbia.
