Resource Type
The Data or Evidence Analysis section of the Boreal Caribou Monitoring Toolkit is intended to include methods that can be used to analyze the field data associated with monitoring boreal caribou and may include resources that pertain to data analysis, interpretation, or statistical modelling. This is the newest section of the toolkit and can be expanded at a later date. Should the toolkit user have resources they would like to submit to this section of the toolkit, kindly contact the NBCKC secretariat.
Subsection 1: Modelling
- Stay tuned! Two resources are being prepared for this section of the toolkit. These are the: 'methods for data analysis and interpretation' flowchart and report.
Subsection 2: Analysis
- A Guide to Classification using Aerial Photography was produced as a collaborative effort between Franki Alo and the National Boreal Caribou Knowledge Consortium
Subsection 3: Treatment of Indigenous Knowledge
- The Indigenous Knowledge Circle of the NBCKC created Beyond Conservation: A Toolkit for Respectful Collaboration with Indigenous Peoples to support individuals and organizations seeking to learn how to do things differently, how to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, and how to embed reconciliation into conservation and stewardship work. The toolkit seeks to enable genuine, respectful, and productive cross-cultural collaborations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups working to protect and restore lands, waters, and all living beings. It contains principles to guide collaboration across cultures (Indigenous and non-Indigenous); a set of practical considerations, frameworks, and guidelines for applying those principles; and links to many resources that can help you work more effectively and respectfully across cultures.
