This report provides a preliminary discussion of cultural and ecological values related to Canada's boreal woodland caribou, and provides references to existing methodologies for assessing these values. Based on these findings, the report's co-authors, the David Suzuki Foundation and the Assembly of First Nations, are calling upon decision makers from all levels of government to broaden their approaches to socio-economic assessments to include both cultural and ecological values.
