A storymap website that explains the importance of lichen as a food source for caribou and the first steps of a project for mapping lichen undertaken by Natural Resources Canada's Canada Centre for Remote Sensing and Four Rivers Environmental Services, Matawa First Nations Management. This project developed a new method to link ground photos to satellite imagery. The approach involved scaling-up through intermediate datasets like drone footage. So far, the research shows that this approach produces more accurate maps of caribou lichens at regional scales!
