This infographic provides an overview of MegaDetector, an open source MicroSoft model developed to help ecologists and wildlife biologists quickly and efficiently sort and classify camera trap data. The model uses artificial intelligence to speed up initial data processing by detecting desired images and sorting potentially thousands of photos into broad categories, which can then be further classified or validated manually by humans.

View this publication to get a better understanding how MegaDetector works, and how it can potentially save time and costs in large-scale environmental monitoring programs.
